Road transport England

Europa Expeditie benefits from both extensive experience in shipping from or to England, and from a wide network of partners.
Thus, we can offer you a comprehensive logistics service, regardless of the type of goods or the delivery/loading place, from the UK or from EU/non-EU countries.
Things to keep in mind when requesting a freight transport on the England – EU/non-EU route:
- The United Kingdom is not a member of the European Union. Thus, goods transported from/to England must go through the customs formalities.
- Transit customs declaration is opened upon loading by the customs commissioner
- Your shipment gains an EORI
- If you are importing goods into the UK, after loading, the UK Customs Commissioner will open a transit declaration form C88. The customs officer or carrier then registers this declaration with the UK Government Portal/GVMS to obtain the GMR code required to cross the EU-UK border.
- The customs declaration is closed in the destination country by a customs commissioner, after which the goods can be delivered to the consignee.
More information about the stages of transportation and the necessary customs procedures can be found on the gov.uk website, here.

- Weight of goods;
- Distance between loading and unloading place
- Delivery date;

3. Types of transport: EU/non-EU – England – EU/non-EU
3.1. FTL transport
Dedicated transport for a single customer. It involves renting a full truck to transport goods from one point to another. In most cases, the price is based on the payment per kilometer traveled by truck. There are also exceptional situations where additional costs may occur, but they are brought to the attention of customers.
3.2. LTL transport
This means that one truck transports goods from several customers. It is also called groupage. Compared to the FTL regime, for groupage shipments, the customer pays per pallet (if the goods are on pallets) or per floor space occupied in the truck (if the goods are not on pallets).
